Many years ago the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart saying,
"The sound of Freedom in Heaven is the sound of drums."
A Tribe Called FREEDOM
Recently on a trip with Release the Runners Crusade, I was commissioned. This word seems to mean much in the Kingdom of God, but to keep it simple, I'll share what it meant to me and the one who commissioned me.
Kansas City, MO, holds an Apostolic Hub called Convergence Point. I could talk all day about this special place, but for now, I'll keep it short.
Every Spiritual House has a "sound" which resonates (or doesn't) naturally and supernaturally with a people.
This particular house is run by Shelley Lowery of Beyond My Borders International Ministry.
The Sound that it carries is rich, raw, organic and tribal. From the way Shelley wars with her worship to the way she roars in powerful decree, she PLOWS... hard. She loves the lost, and she equips the found, and the sound of her house drips with the FREEDOM that Jesus died to give.
There are drums, song, and dance, and when I am with this Tribe, I feel like I'm home... within myself.
I am free to laugh, dance, worship and wail. My running mascara lines are my warpaint, and the flags that fly through the air in worship are the call to war with my praise before the only one worthy of it all... Jesus, my King.
During one of the final sessions at the "Call Me Courageous" Conference in August, Shelley called me forward for a commissioning. This beautiful corporate ceremony created an alignment with Shelley and her ministry, revealing that this wandering warrior woman had a Tribe, while also publicly acknowledging an Apostolic grace that has ripped through my spirit, tread down and triumphed over the fear-of-man, and called for the most authentic version of myself to emerge.
This act, along with every special person involved, shows me over and over again that true Kingdom Connection is real, it's out there, and it's for us all. Because, Kingdom Community is the Children's bread.
Once you hear the sound of your people, your bones will tremble and your heart will pound to the rhythm of the song that God has already prepared for you to sing. It's a song that's been waiting for you since the beginning of time, so let it resonate with your soul and sing it with all your might.
The sound of your tribe will motivate you to take action and pursue your Jesus Journey (calling as a Son/Daughter + Kingdom Assignments) with a people who CHAMPION you FIERCELY FORWARD.
My song will forever be called FREEDOM. And my people WE THE FREE.
We the Free
We are ones who war with our tears, and worship with all we have. We will fearlessly GO anywhere and do anything, because the blood bought a freedom that only a life laid down to Jesus could thank Him for. We are swift in our obedience, and wild with our YES. We are world travels, servant leaders, and seekers of Heaven on Earth.
I pray that these words are a reminder to listen to and follow God, the Creator of every Song (the sound of every Tribe) and every Drum (heart caught on freedom fire), joined together for such a time as this.
